Recientemente se ha presentado la Plataforma de Euskadi contra el Despilfarro Alimentario, en la que alrededor de 60 instituciones y agentes sectoriales han firmado el manifiesto “No al Despilfarro Alimentario en Euskadi”, entre las que se encuentra Prosalus. Se estima que en Euskadi la cantidad de alimentos desperdiciados que se genera supera las 350.000 toneladas al año, y el objetivo es reducir esa cifra a la mitad para el año 2030.
El Departamento de Desarrollo Económico e Infraestructuras del Gobierno Vasco y la Fundación Vasca para la Seguridad Alimentaria Elika, que han puesto en marcha esta iniciativa, tienen previsto formar grupos de trabajo para la elaboración de un Plan Multidisciplinar de Acciones frente al Despilfarro de Alimentos en Euskadi.
